Menial, bookeeping tasks this morning. Making a transfer list so the telecine house can do a final color correct on a shoe commercial I've been editing. Twenty seven cuts in 15 seconds...

Lincoln LS "Waterfall"
Directed by Spanish director Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque) and starring Salma Hayek, this spot is a great blend of special effects and editorial. The effects were done in Miami by Upstairsefx, LLC.
The main inspiration for my editorial approach was a scene from the french film “Brotherhood of the Wolf” where they mapped Monica Bellucci’s body to a snowy landscape. This gave me the idea of blending the shots of Salma sleeping with those of the traveling car. In a sense, using Salma’s curves as the main landscape element.
